RED-S or "Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport" can occur when energy expenditure is greater than energy intake for a prolonged period of time. The resulting low energy availability can result in various dysfunctions in the body and often culminates in decreased sports performance (National Library of Medicine, 2024).
Strategies for increasing energy availability:
Absent other medical conditions, it is likely that you just need to fuel more. Even if you feel like you eat a lot, it's worth trying some of the strategies in the Nutrition tab. Otherwise, it could be a good idea to talk to a medical professional.
